Strate Training is committed to educating and upgrading the standing of individuals working in the Securities industry by constantly keeping them up to date with changes to legislation, market best practices and developments. It is this commitment that has led to the continuous development of one day seminars, Strate e-learning and most recently the introduction of Strate Customised Training Programmes.
Our purpose is to provide accurate, up to date and continuous training on Strate specific functionality, procedures and legislation and we always encourage our market to maintain a high level of theoretical Strate knowledge.
Part of Strate’s responsibility as an SRO (Self Regulating Organisation) is to provide training and accreditation to a Strate Compliance Officer (“SCO”) and an Alternate Compliance Officer (“ACO”) as each Strate Participant is required to have a certified Compliance Officer as well as an Alternate Compliance Officer in their organisation.
Strate Training in partnership with the South African Institute of Financial Markets (SAIFM) offers on-line examinations through the use of SAIFM examination facilities for individuals interested in becoming accredited as Strate Compliance Officers in the Equities, Bonds and / or Money Market environment.
There has been an increase in demand from companies to provide Strate training not only from a Compliance perspective but also from a need to develop skills in the operational areas. To meet these needs Strate Training has recently launched the customised training programmes which will be designed according to each client’s specific requirements. This is a more flexible training alternative which allows Strate Training to deliver a tailor made programme which will address the skills gap as identified by the client.
Accreditation
The Strate Compliance Examinations are endorsed by the Compliance Institute of South Africa (CISA) and Strate Training is currently in the process of obtaining accreditation by the Seta for Finance, Accounting, Management Consulting and other Financial Services (FASSET).
Training Material
Strate currently produces three handbooks, covering the Equities, Bonds and Money Markets environments.
E-Learning has also been embraced to enhance the traditional approach to learning. This solution allows for training “anytime / anywhere” and consists of Knowledge Disks which are computer based audio / visual lectures which can be viewed from a candidate’s work or home computer together with Audio Disks which enables a candidate to listen to training material through any car or traditional sound system.
